Reminder: "Punch's Cousin" Will Return on Monday

Last week in Punch’s Cousin, Mr. Punch and Julian watched as a terrifying drama from their past unfolded on the imaginary stage within their body. Mr. Punch became overwrought, lunging forward to silence the phantom actors as a hideous tale unfolded before them. While Julian appreciated Punch’s loyalty, he explained to his “other half” that they needed to embrace the past so that they could move forward.

Punch and Julian were interrupted by the arrival of Barbara Allen who had come to plead with Julian to help her find Arthur. Iolanthe Evangeline had shanghaied Arthur as a means of punishing Ulrika Rittenhouse for her deliberate deception. Julian and Robert offered their understanding and kindness to Barbara as Julian explained that he’d do whatever he could to help his sister, but would not lift a finger to help Arthur—the man who tricked, poisoned, tortured and shot him.

Barbara fled from the house and sought out Ulrika Rittenhouse, hoping, perhaps, that the two of them—together—could do something to bring Arthur back. While waiting in the kitchen of the Cages’ house, Barbara was introduced to a maid named Zettie who was put in charge of caring for the Cages’ secretly adopted son, “Holt.” Holt, of course, is Barbara’s child—the infant that she sold upon coming to New Orleans. Alone with the child, Barbara’s maternal instincts kicked in and she was overcome with a desire to be with her son. Rushing from the Cages’ mansion with her son in her arms, Barbara came across Adrienne and Marjani and begged them to help her.

Meanwhile, Julian confronted Charles Van Eyck about his true persona, explaining that he knew of a man named Giovanni Iantosca whose brother, Carlo, had gone missing. Charles admitted that he was indeed Carlo, and, emotionally offered to tell Robert and Julian his tale.

This week, we’ll see the aftermath of Barbara’s abduction of her son as well as learn a lot more about Charles. Mr. Punch is not going to be pleased that so much is happening without his presence. As Julian gets stronger, will Mr. Punch become too frustrated to stay quiet?

It’ll be an exciting week. I can’t wait to share it all with you!
