Frame with Photo of King George V
and Queen Mary while Prince
and Princess of Wales,
1905
The Royal Collection

This gorgeous frame of two-color gold, turquoise enamel, seed  pearls, rubies, mother-of-pearl and rose-cut diamonds was created by Viktor Aarne of Fabergé.  The frame was a gift from husband to wife.  In July of 1905, the future King George V (still Prince of Wales) presented this frame to his wife, Mary of Teck.  The future Queen Mary filled the frame with one of her favorite photos of herself and her husband where it has remained for nearly one hundred and six years.
